Sightseeing in London

½ is into a book called Katie goes to London at the moment. Which reminded me that we hadn't been to the Magic Carpet at the National Gallery for ages.

So on Sunday we set off early for the Magic Carpet story time, and some sightseeing around London. We had a good look around the National Gallery after the story, then Trafalgar Square and some lunch.

When I was younger I wanted to go to Belgo, but never made it there. When I found out that kids eat free there, I knew that was our destination for lunch (no picnic today).

I had a kilo of mussels with frites, and ½ had roast chicken and chips. The service was super quick and the restaurant very child friendly. The mussels were very tasty as was the chicken on ½'s plate.

½ had a fruit lolly (turning down ice cream), and whilst I am not normally a pudding person, I did go for a chocolate fondant which was DELICIOUS - even ½ was impressed. (My rule is that you have to try everything. To make sure she got some chocolate fondant, she said "the rule is that you have to try everything, I want to try lots of your pudding." - joker!).

After our lovely lunch we were back on the sight-seeing mission, getting the RV1 to Tower Gateway and then the 15 back to Charing Cross. I love London and I hope that ½ does too.
